BTW, I was on an OpenTelemetry meetup some time ago, and one of OTel contributors acknowledged that it’s indeed quite complex with many layers of abstractions. Terraform 1.10 improves handling secrets in state with ephemeral values - ephemeral values are the values that never end up in the Terraform state file. This is an answer to long-standing criticism of sensitive values being stored in state files.
